Tiger Balm
Tiger Balm is a series of intergenerational interviews conducted by artists of the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora working in the United States. These conversations connect two artists at different points of their careers and life practices in a familial, curious, and elucidative tone. This project seeks to fill a void of AAPI representation by creating an archive that complies with pieces of knowledge within our practices and expands the network and discourse around our vital practices.

Can you tell me about your childhood? Where did you grow up? What your family life was like? Did your family or specific family members have a relationship to art? How did you start making art/being involved in the art world? How would you describe your work to your family vs another audience? Was there a moment when you became more aware of or had language for your identity? Did that influence your work? What fuels you daily? What gives you fire? What parts of your practice might not be visible to the viewer? What is the difference between working for a particular community and working as a member of that community? How do we know each other?
